Our Best Tips for a Late Summer Trip

Our Best Tips for a Late Summer Trip

School is back in session soon, but summer isn’t over yet. There’s still time to create memories that will last the year during one last family vacation!

It’s the “summer slow season” in South Florida, which means you’ll find  a lot of lodging options, including the vacation homes by Kong Vacation Homes, and deals are plentiful! If you are worried about summer showers, make sure to plan your outings in the mornings – and relaxation time in the afternoons when it is most likely to rain. To keep your vacation days as cool as possible, head to a coastal destination, like Tampa Bay on Florida’s West Coast or Hallandale Beach on the East Coast, and enjoy the sea breezes!

Here are some of our ideas for last-minute summer fun during your end-of-summer vacation:

1. Visit a theme park or local attraction

A trip to one (or more) of Tampa’s theme parks, aquariums, zoos, or museums is fun for the entire family! From the thrills of Busch Gardens to the aquatic adventures at the Florida Aquarium, you’ll be close to all of the action that Tampa’s attractions have to offer when you stay at the USF Hideaway!

2. Enjoy nature at a state park

Did you know that the Tampa Bay area is home to more than a dozen state parks and historic sites? Go kayaking at the Hillsborough River State Park. Take the family fishing at the Skyway Fishing Pier State Park. Hike the trails and experience nature at Lettuce Lake Park. And, when the day is over, you can relax your muscles while watching the sunset in the jacuzzi at the Sun Villa!

3. Experience history and culture

From the Tampa Bay History Center to the Tampa Museum of Art and the Henry B. Plant Museum, you can immerse yourself in the city’s rich heritage and history. After a day of touring a cigar factory in Ybor City or other historic sites, the family can rest – and reflect on everything you’ve experienced – at the centrally located Seminole Manor!

4. Head to the beach

Hallandale Beach is located just between Fort Lauderdale and Miami, offering all the best of South Florida. Whether you prefer to swim in the clear waters of the Atlantic or relax on the shore, you’ll be living your best life at the beachside. Swimming, boating, and saltwater fishing….there’s the perfect activity for everyone! Check out Grey Manor for the perfect place to stay after a day at the South Florida beaches!

5. Take a quick road trip

Jump in the RV for a weekend retreat! If you pass through the pastoral lands of Central Florida (and are older than 21), be sure to stop at The Oaks of Zephyrhills to enjoy a night – or more – under the majestic oak trees!

6. Cool off in the pool

Or even better, take a mini-break at a vacation home with your very own pool! The Palm Estate in Halladale Beach or the Aqua Villa in Tampa have private pools for a refreshing and relaxing get-away!

So, pack your bags and hit the road before it’s time to hit the books again. For your Tampa Bay or Hallandale Beach vacation homes, book online at www.kongvacationhomes.com, and vacation to the fullest!
